March in Central Florida means three major events: Bay Hill Golf Classic, Spring Break, and the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival. And these three events culminate on the 3rd weekend of March every year.
I’ve been going to the art festival for decades. Wow, that ages me!! There is something so nostalgic for me walking through Central Park and down Park Avenue.
Hundreds of thousands of people come to the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival every year. And I have a strategic plan I use to avoid the massive crowds. Here’s my secret: I arrive around 8:45 a.m. just before the official opening time of 9:00 a.m. Most of the booths are already up and running and the crowds are non-existent, making it so much easier to take in all the amazing art work.
Look at the crowds! There is nobody there early in the morning. This photo was taken around 9:30 on Saturday morning.
Another year in the books for me. Although I didn’t buy anything, I can’t wait for next year’s festival!
